Here you will find information on everything related to Meshed Wireless Networks
Definition: "Wireless mesh network" means "a mesh network implemented over a WirelessLAN".While the Internet is basically a wirebased communications network, where messages are delivered inside their separate domains for free (you could compare it to the global postal agreement), a wireless-Mesh-network is a wireless communication infrastructure with a high amount of cooperation between many individual wireless stations. This kind of structure has to be decentralized (without a central service provider), is inexpensive, and very reliable. This is due to the fact that all existing nodes need only transmit to the next node - they do not care about the rest of the network. Of course these "nodes" do not only send their own data, but also act as repeaters to transmit data from other, nearby nodes to other peers that are too far away to reach, resulting in a network that - in the end - can span very large distances, for example over rough, widespread or difficult areas.
WLAN Mesh networks are typically developed using access points and routers that are placed high on outdoor structures such as rooftops, light posts, and power poles. Wi-Fi signals are relayed from one router to another, creating a blanket of coverage.
